100 Holding & Helping

Could you be one of the HUNDRED that will help us stay in Uruguay?  96 94 spaces left!

The financial base for our operations and livelihood here lags along with slow change. Don’t get me wrong. I love slow change. It is usually the kind that sticks around. But just like when our resumés are floating in a holding pattern, we would LOVE change to happen faster. So, we are now praying for 100 Who Will Help and Hold. We are looking for 100 individuals who will give $10 a month for the next two years. $10. A month. 100 people. I love the idea so much I am going to start doing it today to a local ministry. Okay. I’m back. I just did it. Awesome!!!

I would name two families that just started making this a part of their regular life-habits for the work in Uruguay, but it might embarrass them.

The bottom line is this. Serve the City is becoming self-sustaining. Our church community El Kitchen has a body of young leaders that are passionate about the Kingdom. Our outreach ministry El Living may very well become a café in the next year. Toni is moving to a coaching role with the Godly Play children’s work. We are moving from being the frontline DOERS into a role of MENTORING AND COACHING leaders.

And we would like to be able to continue to do it. And we would love EVERY ONE OF YOU to come here on a short-term team in the next FIVE YEARS! But we need to BE HERE in five years!

When you do come, we will tell you spiritual stories that will make your hair stand on end, because of the real power of evil and the even greater power of God. BUT WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO STAY HERE TO DO IT!
